San Francisco - 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 - 81k Miles, New Engine, Full Warranty

A slightly scruffy but well-priced 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 in a 6-speed. This car was built during the second year of 996 production, meaning that it used a weaker single-row IMS bearing. Porsche redesigned the bearing between model year 1999 and 2000, but luckily, this one already received a factory replacement engine with the stronger bearing in 2010.

Currently sitting at 81k chassis miles, the car presents decently, with lots of paint luster and (relatively) clear headlight lenses. A large scuff is visible on the front bumper area, as is a significant crack on the bottom of the front splitter. The interior looks well-preserved, with the exception of some wear on the driver's side bolster and an aftermarket stereo head.

What's best about this car, however, are its mechanicals. With only 36k engine miles on a replacement, you don't have to worry about the IMS problem, and the car comes with a one-year aftermarket warranty. Components covered include the engine, transmission, cooling, electrical system, drive axles, brakes, and more. The warranty started on January 20, 2018.

Of course, you'd want to get an expert opinion on those cosmetic issues, and you'd want to make sure that all components not covered by the warranty look good. A PPI is a must on this one.

And at $18.5k, it's well within reach for most buyers. Check out more photos below.
