Los Angeles - Survivor 1963 Porsche 356 - Patina, Rust Included

This 1963 Porsche 356B coupe is by no means pristine - sporting peeling paint, lots of rust on the door bottoms and the hood, and a tired interior, it would be more at home in a surf village than it would at Pebble Beach.

One family owned the car for approximately 40 years before selling it on to the current seller, who totally rebuilt a non-matching engine and installed it into this car. Where the cosmetics might deceive you, this car should be a really strong runner under the hood.

I love seeing more of these "rat rod" 356s popping up for sale. Of course, an example restored to concours perfection is valuable, but I love the concept of driving a ratty 356 down gravel roads to the beach, surfboards strapped to the roof. There's something liberating about a Porsche that you can drive without worrying about scratches or dents.

With over $25k of mechanical repair receipts included in the sale, you can feel comfortable driving this 356 to any beach you like. I guarantee that it will turn more heads than any VW Westfalia could ever hope to turn.

Advertised at $55k, which is fair, given that the mechanical receipts look complete. See more photos below:
