Los Angeles - 2004 Porsche 911 Targa - Single-Owner, 53k Miles

A "cream puff" late-model 996 with great mileage, documentation, and recent service. 2004 was the last year of 996 production, meaning that this example has all of the lighting and interior upgrades from the facelifted 911.

Better still, this car is a "Targa" model, meaning that it has an extra-large retractable glass roof and a rear window that lifts like a hatch. It's not the most hard-edged of 911s, but the Targa was the best way to get an open-top experience without sacrificing the 911's shape.

Only 508 911 Targas were built for the 2004 model year, and each received the familiar 320-horsepower 3.6-liter flat-six. This one looks to be preserved beautifully, with only a bit of curb rash visible on the front passenger's tire. Best of all, it has already received an LN Engineering IMS retrofit and rear main seal replacement during the past year.

The Achilles heel for these cars is the fitment of the Targa top - the motors often fail or produce a terrible creaking sound as they open. The seller claims that this car's top functions perfectly, but you'd want to verify.

Offered by the original owner for $29.5k with full service history from new, which is rare. That's a high asking price for a 996, but you'd be hard-pressed to find another Targa with similar ownership and service history.
