Los Angeles - 1988 Porsche 924S Special Edition - 57k Miles, Porsche CoA

Think of this 1988 924S Special Edition as a 924 "GT3" - that is, a stripped-down, bare-bones variant of the 924 built for performance and handling.

Its 2.5-liter four-cylinder only produced 158 horsepower when new, but the "Special Edition" package was all about weight savings. Porsche deleted power steering, power locks, the radio, A/C, the passenger's sideview mirror, and cruise control to make the 928SE light on its feet.

This particular example is one of 500 produced for the US market, each equipped with the 944's powertrain and running gear. It would make an incredible buy for first-time Porsche owner, just as it would be a perfect candidate for a weekend track toy.

However you want to use it, check out the photos below. It's a great value at $16k.
