San Francisco - 1987 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera - 95k Miles, New Clutch, Strong Compression

Few details are given about this '87 3.2 Carrera, but it looks to be a beautiful example of one of the most bulletproof 911s ever produced.

The 3.2-liter flat-six in this car is the gold standard for air-cooled Porsche engines - countless resto-mod 911s have swapped in 3.2s because of their reliability. Pair that with the delightful G50 5-speed transmission and elegant looks, and this car becomes an absolute dream to drive.

This particular example looks really promising - bodywork looks very straight, and the interior is factory-fresh.

Top tip for a potential buyer is to get a PPI to corroborate the strong compression numbers that the seller claims (no more than 6% variance between cylinders). Most importantly, get full service history if you can. At 97k miles and over 30 years old, I'd be surprised if the engine hasn't had a full rebuild.

At $48.5k, this car is priced just right. I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if I were looking for a 3.2 Carrera.
