San Francisco - 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 3.2 - 72k Miles, Numbers Matching

A stunning example of an '86 3.2 Carrera, one of the most desirable air-cooled Porsches on the market today. These cars are revered for their super-handsome styling and bulletproof 3.2-liter flat-six, and this particular one is a very original example. I love how Prussian Blue/Blue color configuration highlights the clean dash lines.

The owner claims that the car is a three-owner example with a completely original interior, which is amazing given the condition of the leather and dash components. Service records will also accompany the sale - make sure to pore through those looking for engine rebuilds and reseals in this car's past.

This car's only downside is that it was produced one year before the G50 transmission became standard on all 3.2s, so it uses the older 915 unit. The 915 is still smooth, precise, and reliable, but the re-sale market is smaller for cars without the G50. Use that as a negotiating point with the seller.

I'd recommend a full leakdown test and PPI on this car, paying special attention to body integrity and rust. From the looks of the photos, the undercarriage is beautifully preserved, but you'd still want an expert to look at the common rust spots.

Advertised at $45.25k, this '86 Carrera is priced right at market value. Buying this car is a no-brainer if the engine health and cosmetics check out.
